JOYN fee policy

JOYN's fee policy is based on a simple principle: Transparency.

On the opening of each case, a personalised document, "JOYN, the pact" specifies the terms and conditions of the agreement between JOYN and its client as well as the applicable price structure.

"JOYN, the pact" can be broken down according to the following principles:

  • clarity on fees from the opening of the case
  • choice of the fee calculation method
  • billing expenses at cost price

Fees
Fees pay for the services provided by lawyers. Generally speaking, they are calculated using an hourly rate that can vary depending on difficulty of the case, the stakes, or the client's ability to contribute. They fall within the following margins:

  • associate partner: from 125 to 300 Euros
  • employee: from 100 to 150 Euros

A result-based fee may be agreed upon; it is described in "JOYN the pact".
Time sheets are regularly sent to the client at a defined frequency (in principle every quarter). If applicable, provisions may be requested.

Expenses
Expenses cover the expenditure linked to the fulfilment of services. Notably, these expenses include secretarial work, typing, correspondence, telephone calls, visits, copies, etc.
They can be calculated in two ways:

  • percentage method: they are made up of a predefined percentage of the fees
  • real cost method: they are calculated based on the real cost

The choice of the method is laid out in "JOYN the pact".

Disbursements

Disbursements are any sums that JOYN pays to third parties on behalf of its clients. Notably, these include bailiffs' fees (citation, execution, etc), notarial fees, translation fees, correspondence fees, etc. These sums are due by the client. When they are advanced on his behalf, they are billed to him at cost price, and are always accompanied by proof.
